Hiller Named MAAC Diver of Week

LAWRENCEVILLE-Rider University sophomore diver Trevor Hiller was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Diver of the Week for all competition the last week of October.

Hiller (Galloway Twp., NJ/Absegami) won the 1-meter dive (318.15) and placed second in the 3-meter (282.08) in Rider's MAAC win over Marist.

"Trevor is an athlete." said Rider head coach Steve Fletcher.  "He has always had tremendous power and strength on the boards.  His recent improvements have been the result of Coach (Eric) Blevins introducing more technical control into his diving."

It marks the third time this season that a Rider diver won this award. Senior Brendan Cavallaro (Middleboro, Mass./Middleboro) won the award the first two weeks of the season.

"I am extrememly proud of Trevor," said diving coach Eric Blevins.  "He has worked hard all season and has been consitently improving each meet.  Being named the conference diver of the week is a huge honor that I know he's proud of.  Now that he, along with Brendan, have already posted qualifying scores for the NCAA Zone A Diving Meet, we can begin to push for harder skills, which is really exciting."

Rider takes to the pool again November 5 at Lehigh.
