BINGHAMTON, NY-The Broncs lost to Edinboro and Pitt before defeating Davidson at the Sprawl and Brawl Tournament, hosted by Binghamton University. "I thought we wrestled very well against Edinboro, and that's what we're capable of, but I don't think we wrestled that well against Pitt," Rider head coach Gary Taylor said.

Rider senior Michael Kessler (Randallstown, MD/Owings Mills), ranked 20^th in the nation, and freshman Zac Cibula (Luxenburg, Wis./Casco) won all three of their bouts. Cibula won by fall against Davidson. "With their wins over Lock haven they both went 4-0 for the weekend," Taylor said.  "Kessler is beginning to figure it out in spurts."

Junior Rob Morrison (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) won against Pitt, won by forfeit against Davidson and lost 4-3 to the top ranked wrestler in the nation, defending national champion Jarrod King of Edinboro. "Robbie actually took him down but the referee said the kid screamed on the way down and he didn't give Robbie the takedown," Taylor said. "It was very debatable and it was the difference in the match."

Sophomore Aaron Nestor (Transfer, PA/Reynolds) won against Edinboro and won a major decision against Davidson. "Aaron is doing better," Taylor said.

Sophomore Tyler Smith (Phillipsburg, N.J./Belvidere) won by fall against Davidson and won against Edinboro.

Sophomore Jimmy Kirchner (Somerville) and junior Joe Ferber (Holbrook, NY/Sachem) won by fall against Davidson and freshman Jim Resnick (Media, Pa./Penncrest) won by tech fall.

Rider competes at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas December 4-5. "We just have to keep trying to improve each time out," Taylor said. "We have a lot of young kids who are wrestling hard but haven't figured it all out yet," Taylor said. "This is a team that is going to take a half of a year to develop. We're heading in the right direction."
