James played a pivotal role in the Broncs’ five-game winning streak to close out the month. He averaged 14.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game over eight games, shooting 51.3 percent (41-80) from the floor and 86.5 percent (32-37) from the free-throw line. He was named MAAC and Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week on Jan. 23 and 24, respectively, becoming the first Bronc to win the Met honor since Teddy Okereafor in January 2016. Included in his production a steal in the final minute vs. Niagara with the Broncs trailing by one. He was fouled, made two free throws and the Broncs never trailed again.
