Johnson led Rider on a 14-game winning streak, with nine of the victories coming in January. She broke Rider’s all-time scoring record on Jan. 4 at Iona and is closing in on 2,000 career points. She earned three of her league-record MAAC Player of the Week honors in the month and twice earned Met Basketball Writers Division I Player of the Week. She earned College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Player of the Week on Jan. 6 and has been named a Finalist for the Senior CLASS Award and a semifinalist for the Becky Hammond Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. For the month, Johnson averaged 23.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor, including 36.4 percent from long range.
