Romano got her Rider career off to a strong start as she was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week five times in August and September. During the early-portion of the season, she was also honored once as the MAAC Player of the Week and named to the All-Tournament Team at the Georgetown Classic. The first-year opposite leads the MAAC in kills, kills per set, points and points per set. She ranks second in all of Division I in points and fourth in kills. She is the first Bronc freshman to record over 300 kills since Hailey Riede in 2015.
