Rider University Athletics

Melissa Baccari begins her third season at Rider University in 2013, having been named assistant coach in August of 2011.

In her first season, 17 of the 30 matches went at least four sets and in 2012, Rider doubled its win total, posting the most wins (11) since the 2004 season when the Broncs won 15 and advanced to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament.

Baccari came to Rider from the Downstate Juniors Volleyball Club where she served as head coach of the under 17 national team that placed first in the region and earned a national bid.

Baccari graduated from Mercy College in New York with a Criminal Justice degree after starting her career at Maryland Eastern Shore.

Baccari also coached the 12 and under national volleyball squad for Downstate Juniors that placed third.

Baccari works with the High Performance GEVA team; the first GEVA team developed for this region and was a select coach at the World Volleyball Training Center.
