What You Need To Know
- Rider and Iona are meeting for the 63rd time, with IC owning a 37-25 lead in the all-time series. Iona won the first meeting this season, Jan. 14, in New Rochelle.
- The Broncs enter the final day of the season in a tie for first place in the MAAC with Canisius. With a win, Rider would take the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Tournament. A Rider loss would guarantee Canisius takes the No. 1 seed and the Broncs would be No. 2, regardless of the Griffs' outcome against Marist.
- Prior to the game, the Broncs will honor their lone senior, Joe Ajike, as part of Senior Day ceremonies. A three-year student manager, Ajike walked onto the team this season.
- Rider had its 10-game winning streak snapped last time out at Monmouth. The streak was one of only five 10-game winning streaks in program history.
- Rider's 14-3 mark is its best 17-game start in 21 years in the MAAC, one game better than the 2001-02 and 2014-15 teams' 13-4 records.
- Rider has won 20 games for just the 10th time in the 90-year history of the program. The team record is 23 wins (2007-08, 2010-11), while the 1993-94 and 2014-15 squads are the only others to win 21.
- Rider is currently No. 67 in the RPI (as of 2/22). Its highest ranking was No. 62.
- Rider has won seven games this season when trailing in the final four minutes. The Broncs have also broken a tie in the final minute to win three times.
- Rickey McGill leads Iona at 13.6 points and 5.7 assists per game, while E.J. Crawford has added 13.0 points per game. Deyshonee Much (11.4 ppg.) and Roland Griffin (10.9 ppg.) have also averaged in double figures, while Schadrac Casimir has added 9.9 points per game, while shooting 46.2 percent from deep.
- Sixth-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 106-87 record and reached the MAAC Quarterfinals in each of his first five seasons. Baggett was the 2015 MAAC Coach of the Year.
