What You Need To Know
- Rider and Penn State are meeting for the fifth time, with the Nittany Lions owning a 3-1 lead in the series. In the last meeting on Nov. 23, 2007, the Broncs took an 82-73 win at the Old Spice Classic behind 2008 NBA Draft lottery pick Jason Thompson's 23 points and 10 rebounds.
- The Broncs snapped a four-game losing skid with a 90-84 overtime victory over Wagner on Dec. 16. Wagner entered the game 7-1 and #40 in the RPI.
- Friday's game will be a homecoming for Rider Assistant Coach
Ben Luber, who was a four-year starter at Penn State from 2003-07.

Jordan Allen won three-straight MAAC Rookie of the Week awards and scored in double figures in each of his first 10 collegiate games, including a season-high 28 at Providence. He was held to eight against Wagner.
- Sophomore point guard
Stevie Jordan has been strong all-around at 15.4 points, 7.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. He went for 19 points, a career-high six steals and five assists against Hofstra after sitting due to injury at Robert Morris. He backed up that performance with 19 points and seven assists vs. Wagner.
- Penn State is 10-3 (1-1 Big 10) following Tuesday night's win over Binghamton. The Nittany Lions' lone losses came to Texas A&M, N.C. State and Wisconsin. - Like RU, Penn State features five scorers in double figures, led by Tony Carr, who's paced PSU at 19.5 points and 4.8 assists per game. Lamar Stevens (14.6 ppg., 7.0 rpg.) and Mike Watkins (12.7 ppg., 8.6 rpg.) have also been strong.
- RU was picked to finish seventh in the MAAC Preseason Poll. Also picked to finish seventh a year ago, the Broncs finished sixth.

Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 91-84 record and reached the MAAC Quarterfinals in each of his first five seasons. Baggett was the 2015 MAAC Coach of the Year.
