What You Need To Know
- Rider and Hampton are meeting for the third time. The Broncs own a 2-0 lead in the series with wins in the 1998-99 and 2016-17 seasons. Rider opened last season with a 67-56 victory in Virginia.
- Rider finished with an 18-15 record in 2016-17, advancing to the MAAC Quarterfinals for the fifth-straight year under Head Coach Kevin Baggett.
- Rider features a roster with just five of 16 players who took the court for the Broncs last season and just one returning starter in sophomore Stevie Jordan.
- The Broncs lost four starters to graduation in All-MAAC Third Team selections Jimmie Taylor and Kahlil Thomas, as well as Norville Carey and Xavier Lundy.
- Rider was picked to finish seventh in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Also picked to finish seventh a year ago, the Broncs achieved the No. 6 seed in the MAAC Championships.
- Jordan was picked to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team after dishing out a league-best 5.6 assists per game as a freshman in 2016-17.
- Six of the 10 different Broncs to suit up last season posted a double-double. Three of them - Stevie Jordan, Kealen Washington-Ives and Dimencio Vaughn - return in 2016-17. Meanwhile, Devine Eke posted four double-doubles as a true freshman at Maine in 2015-16 and is eligible after sitting out last season.
- Sixth-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted an 85-79 record and reached the MAAC Quarterfinals in each of his first five seasons. Baggett was the 2015 MAAC Coach of the Year.
