What You Need To Know
- Rider and Providence are meeting for the fifth time, with the Friars owning a 3-1 lead in the all-time series, including the last three.
- The Broncs have won four-straight, including a 67-65 win at George Washington, Rider's first win over an Atlantic 10 team since 2010. Most recently, RU defeated Hampton in the Las Vegas Invitational Upper Division Championship.
- At 5-1, Rider is off to its best start since 1997-98, when it began the year 8-1.
- Frederick Scott led Rider in two-straight wins over George Washington and UC Irvine. He had 17 points and 10 rebounds, including the game-winning bucket with 36.5 seconds left at George Washington, before posting 22 points and nine rebounds against the Anteaters.
- Redshirt freshman Jordan Allen has scored in double figures in each of his first six collegiate games for a team-best 17.8 points per game.
- Sophomore point guard Stevie Jordan has been strong all-around at 14.7 points, 7.5 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.
- The Broncs have turned the ball over just 63 times, while dishing out 90 assists.
- The Friars' lone setback came Nov. 13 against Minnesota. PC has defeated Houston Baptist, Washington, Saint Louis, Belmont and Boston College.
- Rodney Bullock leads PC at 13.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
- RU was picked to finish seventh in the MAAC Preseason Poll. Also picked to finish seventh a year ago, the Broncs finished sixth.
- Sixth-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 90-80 record and reached the MAAC Quarterfinals in each of his first five seasons. Baggett was the 2015 MAAC Coach of the Year.
