What You Need To Know
- Rider and Hampton are meeting for the fourth time, with Rider winning each of the prior three in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 season openers and another win in 1998-99. The Broncs won this year's season-opener, 90-75, at home.
- The Broncs have won three-straight, including a 67-65 win at George Washington, Rider's first win over an Atlantic 10 team since Dec. 22, 2010 (La Salle). Most recently, the Broncs defeated UC Irvine, 90-82, on Nov. 23.
- Frederick Scott has led Rider in two-straight wins over George Washington and UC Irvine. He had 17 points and 10 rebounds, including the game-winning bucket with 36.5 seconds left at George Washington, before posting 22 points and nine rebounds against the Anteaters.
- Redshirt freshman Jordan Allen has scored in double figures in each of his first five collegiate games for a team-best 17.0 points per game.
- Sophomore point guard Stevie Jordan has been strong all-around at 14.8 points, 6.6 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game.
- The Broncs have turned the ball over just 53 times, while dishing out 74 assists.
- Since falling at Rider, HU has defeated Bluefield College (NAIA) and Northern Arizona, while falling William & Mary, George Washington and Xavier.
- Jermaine Marrow leads Hampton at 21.2 points and 6.0 assists per game.
- RU was picked to finish seventh in the MAAC Preseason Poll. Also picked to finish seventh a year ago, the Broncs finished sixth.
- Sixth-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted an 89-80 record and reached the MAAC Quarterfinals in each of his first five seasons. Baggett was the 2015 MAAC Coach of the Year.
