ORLANDO, FL - The Rider University women's basketball team looks to improve to 4-0 to open a campaign for the first time since the 1978-79 season when the Broncs travel to Orlando, Florida to face the Knights of the University of Central Florida and Rider will also face the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure.
Rider is coming off a 74-61 win over La Salle on November 17, the second game in a row that the Broncs led wire to wire.
Central Florida is a member of the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and the Knights are 4-1 following a 66-59 road win at Butler on Tuesday. Rider is 1-0 against the Knights all-time having won over UCF, 76-74, on November 23, 2007, in
Lynn Milligan's sixth game as Broncs head coach.
Shannon Ferguson broke a 73-73 tie, scoring a layup for the eventual game-winning points in Alumni Gym on Black Friday.
St. Bonaventure (A-10) enters the tournament 1-3 with a win over Colgate and losses to MAAC opponents Canisius and Niagara. The Bonnies face Austin Peay on Saturday before facing Rider. The Broncs are 1-3 all-time against the Bonnies with Rider's last win in the series in 1998-99.
Rider finished the 2015-16 season 8-22, 5-15 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, finishing tied for ninth. Rider played in the First Round of the MAAC Championships against #7 seed Siena College, losing 79-76 in overtime despite 26 points from sophomore
Kamila Hoskova.

Robin Perkins who is averaging 17.7 points per game. The Broncs have been led on the boards by
Julia Duggan who is currently 12th on Rider's all-time rebounding list with 573 and she enters play averaging 7.0 rebounds per contest.
