Baseball Squares Off With Wagner on Wednesday on Campus

The Broncs and Seahawks will meet for the second year in a row in Lawrenceville

What You Need to Know
- Rider returns home for the first of four straight games in Lawrenceville on Wednesday, April 11. The Broncs will take on Wagner in midweek, non-conference action before welcoming hOURglass Rival Saint Peter's to campus over the weekend.

- The Broncs are looking to end a five-game losing streak. At home this season, Rider is 1-3 with a win against Iona and pair of non-conference setbacks.

- Last year in Lawrenceville, Wagner knocked off Rider, 14-7. In the game last spring, Riley Mihalik paced the Bronc attack by going 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. He belted a homer in a losing effort for the Broncs.

- Rider is 15-5 all-time against Wagner.

- Sophomore Joe Simone was stellar for the Broncs last week in a quartet of contests. The left-handed, rightfielder hit .571 with an impressive .684 on-base percentage and a whopping .786 slugging percentage. He registered three multi-hit games against Fairfield in MAAC play and smacked his first career home run in setback against the Stags. On the week, Simone went 8-of-14 with three RBIs, three runs scored, one homer and one stolen base. He walked three times and was hit by two pitches.    

- Simone leads the team in batting, hitting .326 with 30 hits, 15 runs scored, nine extra-base hits and 10 RBIs.

- On the basepaths, five different Broncs have five or more steals. Senior Harrison McClure has a team-high six steals this year.

- Senior Jake Bender is batting .296 and leads the team in runs scored with 16.

- Out of the bullpen, junior Jordan Silverman has made a team-best 15 appearances.
