Tom Petroff was the head baseball coach from 1961-70 with a career record of 155-84-2. Petroff had a regular season winning percentage of .647. He led Rider into the elite of college baseball, taking Rider to College World Series appearance in 1967. Petroff is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He was also a past president of the ABCA. One of only five coaches to lead two schools to the College World Series. Petroff was formally in charge of the Detroit Tigers' Spring Training operations and he has coached numerous USA Baseball teams overseas, including the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team. Along with coaching, he has written numerous articles and books as well as producing a video on hitting.
